PART 1 — The Last Spell

On the night the kingdom's final candle of magic went dark, Princess Elara heard something whisper beneath the palace.

“One spell remains.”

For three hundred years, the kingdom of Valedorn had been protected by magic. Wizards could heal the sick, knights could enchant their weapons, and royal sorcerers could summon storms with a single word.

But magic was dying.

One by one, the ancient spells disappeared until only one remained—the legendary First Spell, hidden beneath the royal throne.

Everyone wanted it.

King Aldren wanted to use it to rebuild the kingdom's defenses. The High Mage wanted to restore every lost spell. The generals wanted an army no enemy could defeat.

And beyond the castle walls, rebels whispered that whoever controlled the First Spell could finally overthrow the crown.

Elara wanted none of it.

She had spent her life watching magic destroy people. Her mother had died when a spell meant to save the queen instead consumed half the royal tower.

That night, Elara followed the whisper into the ancient chamber beneath the throne room.

There, beneath layers of black stone, she found a silver door covered in glowing runes.

When she touched it, the door opened.

Inside floated a single sphere of golden light.

The First Spell.

Elara reached toward it.

The moment her fingers touched the light, the chamber vanished.

She saw Valedorn burning.

She saw armies marching beneath a blood-red sky. She saw the king holding the spell while cities collapsed behind him. She saw the High Mage using it to resurrect dead sorcerers. She
