The Prince’s Magic Exposed a Betrayal Buried for Twenty Years

PART 1 — The Memory Behind the Crown

Prince Adrian discovered the truth about his family the night his magic showed him a murder that never appeared in history.

For twenty years, the kingdom of Eldoria had celebrated the same story.

King Roland had defeated the Shadow Rebellion. Queen Elara had died protecting the palace. The traitorous rebels had been destroyed, and the kingdom had entered an age of peace.

Adrian had believed every word.

Then, on his twentieth birthday, his magic awakened.

It happened during the royal ceremony.

As Adrian touched the ancient Crown of Eldoria, blue fire raced across his fingers.

The great hall fell silent.

“What is happening?” the king demanded.

Adrian tried to pull his hand away.

He could not.

Suddenly, the walls disappeared.

Adrian saw the palace twenty years earlier.

His mother stood in the throne room, holding a newborn baby.

Her baby.

Adrian.

Across from her stood a younger King Roland and the royal commander, Lord Cassian.

“You promised me the child would never inherit the throne,” Cassian said.

Queen Elara shook her head.

“I promised nothing.”

“Then the rebellion continues.”

Cassian drew his sword.

Adrian watched helplessly as his mother placed the infant version of himself inside a hidden chamber.

Then she turned toward Cassian.

“You don't understand what you're protecting.”

The vision shattered.

Adrian fell to his knees.

The royal court stared at him.

“What did you see?” King Roland asked.

Adrian looked at his father.

“Mother.”

The king's face changed.

“You saw your mother?”

“I saw you.”

Silence filled the hall.

Lord Cassian stepped forward.

“The prince is confused.”

Adrian looked at him.

“You were there too.”

Cassian's hand moved toward his sword.

Before he could draw it, Adrian's magic erupted.

Every royal portrait in the hall began glowing.

One after another, hidden memories appeared.

Adrian saw his mother arguing with the king.

He saw Cassian meeting secretly with rebel leaders.

He saw soldiers entering the palace on the night of the supposed rebellion.

And then he saw the final memory.

His mother was alive.

She was being taken away in chains.

Not by rebels.

By the king's own soldiers.

Adrian stared at his father in horror.

“You lied to me.”

The king whispered one sentence.

“I did it to save you.”

PART 2 — The Queen Who Was Never Dead

Adrian refused to believe him.

“You said she died.”

King Roland lowered his head.

“She was supposed to.”

Lord Cassian suddenly attacked.

Adrian's magic reacted before he could think.

A wall of blue fire appeared between them.

Cassian stepped back.

“Your mother knew what you were,” he said.

“What am I?” Adrian demanded.

Cassian smiled bitterly.

“The last blood heir of the Starborn kings.”

The ancient magic in Adrian's veins had been feared for centuries. It could reveal memories hidden inside objects, blood, and even living people.

His mother had discovered the truth before Adrian was born.

She wanted to end the royal bloodline's control over the kingdom.

King Roland wanted to preserve it.

That was the real reason she had been imprisoned.

But Cassian revealed something even worse.

“Your father did not order her imprisonment,” he said.

“Then who did?” Adrian asked.

Cassian looked toward the throne.

“I did.”

The king stared at him.

“Cassian…”

“Twenty years ago, I believed the queen would destroy the kingdom. I forged the evidence against her. I created the rebellion. I convinced the king she was working with the enemy.”

Adrian's hands trembled.

“You destroyed my family.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

Cassian's expression hardened.

“Because I believed peace was worth any betrayal.”

Adrian reached toward an ancient sword hanging above the throne.

The moment his fingers touched it, another memory appeared.

His mother was alive.

She was standing in a distant monastery.

Older now.

Waiting.

Adrian knew where she was.

He rode through the night with a small group of loyal guards.

At dawn, he found her standing beneath an ancient silver tree.

For several seconds, neither spoke.

Then Queen Elara looked at her son.

“You have your father's eyes.”

Adrian's voice broke.

“And your magic.”

She smiled.

He embraced her.

For the first time in twenty years, the lost queen held her son.

But the story did not end there.

Adrian returned to Eldoria and exposed Cassian's betrayal before the entire kingdom.

The commander was stripped of his title.

King Roland surrendered the throne.

And Queen Elara returned—not as a ruler, but as a witness to the truth.

Years later, Adrian became king.

He ordered the royal historians to record everything that had happened.

Not only the victories.

Not only the glorious battles.

But the lies.

The fear.

The betrayal.

Because Adrian had learned something his ancestors never understood.

Magic could reveal the past.

But only courage could change what came next.
